So Pleased with the Govee Prism!
We're really happy we chose the Govee Prism instead of the older versions. This one was way easier to set up, especially when it came to making those blank spaces between lights. Unlike the old models where you had to mess with wire cutters and heat guns, the Prism lets you just pull back the wire and use the splice connectors they included. Plus, the other side is already set up for the next string! For anyone with peaks on their house, a tip we picked up from some videos is to start at the top of the A-frame and work your way down. It makes everything look nicer than if you started from the bottom. My husband found it easier to use the adhesive backing to stick the lights to the fascia board to keep his hands free for the drill and screws. Juggling the lights, screws, and balancing on the ladder is quite the challenge! Another great tip is to test each string on the ground first to make sure it works before you screw them in. That way, you won't have to take them down if something's not right. And do yourself a favor—take off the protective layer once everything's working to avoid doing it while up on the ladder. Connecting the app was simple too, especially with good Wi-Fi by the control outlet. The brightness and three color options for each light blew us away compared to the older models. We're glad we went with the Prism—it's worth the extra cost, considering how much easier the setup is and the light quality!

If You Want Your House To Stand Out
These lights are awesome. If you want to break free from the usual Govee setups, this is the way to go. I saw some comments about spacing issues, but honestly, it wasn't a problem for me. I actually like the wider spacing—it avoids that heavy “raindrop curtain” look, which isn’t my style. I had them installed by a pro, so there's no awkward wire hanging down like a forgotten holiday decoration. The outcome is neat and says, 'yes, I planned this.' App setup is classic Govee with a lot of options, and it can be a bit tricky at first, like you accidentally stumbled into a plane's controls. But once you get it figured out, it performs great. The brightness is just right—bright enough without being over the top, and you can dim them for a more subtle look. I got the 150 ft kit, which covered both stories of my house, and I still have a full box just sitting there, judging me. Right now, there’s only one other house in my neighborhood with these lights, and yes, it stands out. If you want something different from the sea of Govee Pro setups, they're worth it. They’re a bit on the pricey side, so if you find them on sale, snag them. Plus, they offer warm and cool white settings—nice enough that the HOA won’t think you’re throwing a rave, while still catching the attention of passing neighbors.

The freedom
These lights are fantastic! I'm so relieved I don't have to get on the roof anymore, especially at 72. They work perfectly, and there are so many colors to choose from or you can stick with just plain lights.
