Great table with a few quirks
I got my coffee table a couple of days earlier than I expected, which was awesome. Unfortunately, FedEx didn't bring it to my door; they just left it at the bottom of my apartment building. Since it weighs around 200lbs with the packaging, I had to open the box outside and carry the pieces home, which led to some damage. Luckily, the customer service at Hawkins Woodshop was quick to respond. They took my feedback seriously and even offered a small refund, which I thought was a nice touch. As for the table itself, it's beautiful and practical. Figuring out how to arrange the two pieces took a bit of time, though—if they're not set up right, it can look off. But when it’s arranged well, it feels almost like a piece of art. The oak wood pattern adds a nice warmth to the room, and the storage in the coffee table holds everything I moved over from my old one, which is great. One thing to note: the two white tops are bright white. I compared it to some paint samples, and the table is whiter than my 'whitest' white sample. I would have preferred if it was more of an off-white. Plus, the textures are a bit different; the lower table is smooth, while the upper one feels rough, like sandpaper. It’s odd, but I think the top surface might be tougher against scratches. Overall, it's a coffee table and the customer service was solid. If you can look past the little quirks, I’d say it’s a great buy.
