Well made and sturdy, but had some damage.
I wanted to give an update after putting this bookshelf together. Even though two of the boards arrived damaged, I have to say these shelves are solid and pretty easy to assemble. I usually dislike lock screws for furniture, but thankfully there are only four to hold the top and bottom parts together; the rest are just regular screws. The pegs for the shelves are nice too since they have nubs that fit both in the shelf and the wall of the unit, which adds to the stability. I did notice a crack on the back of board one right away, but I decided not to stress over it and kept going. By the time I reached board eight, I found more damage, which was disappointing. It just seems like the quality control could be better when sending them out. The packing was great, and the box was intact when it arrived. On a brighter note, I have about half of the tower put together and it does look well made and sturdy.

These narrow shelves work well for CDs and DVDs, but they also make decent flexible bookcases. Once put together, they feel really solid. Putting them together isn’t too hard, but I'd recommend setting aside a good 1 to 2 hours and closely following the diagram instructions. You get 34 wood pieces along with 240 fasteners and other bits! I like the vintage brown finish on the engineered wood. Overall, a good buy.
