Simple, sturdy, spacious
I got this desk to replace my old writing desk, and I wanted something wider and more straightforward. This desk is affordable and tough, exactly what I needed. My setup looks like the sample photo, except I have three monitors lined up in the back and my laptop off to the side where they show a lamp. There's plenty of room for my keyboard, and I can easily slide it out when I need to use a notepad. Assembling the desk was pretty straightforward since all the parts and instructions are labeled well. They included the right-sized hex keys, but I used my own hex screwdriver to make it quicker, and it took me about 20 minutes total to get everything done. If you stick with their hex keys, you might want to budget about an hour because the threading is tight, and it takes a few turns to get it just right. Just a heads up: don't over tighten the bolts that go into the wood. As with most wood projects, over-tightening can pull the sleeve out later, but this desk has nice, snug sleeves, so most people shouldn't run into issues.

I picked up this CubiCubi 40 x 24 Small One-Piece Standing Desk, and honestly, for what I paid, I can’t complain at all—definitely deserves 5 stars. Setting it up was straightforward, though the instructions could use some better diagrams for guidance. One thing to note: with this 40" version, my chair's arm hit the height control panel, so I had to move it to the side of the desk to make it more accessible. It was easy to get screws into the material, even without pre-drilled holes; I'd recommend a powered screwdriver for it. Overall, everything works well, even if it's a bit tricky to see the buttons on the side. A few downsides for such an economical desk: the edges aren’t rounded, which would be nice for resting your arms comfortably. The desktop is on the thinner side compared to pricier options, but that's fine for me. Also, this is the slowest sit/stand desk I've used, but it doesn't bother me. I did notice there's no cable management tray underneath, so I’d suggest grabbing one that clamps on easily without drilling. The included hangers for headphones felt a little flimsy, so I replaced them with sturdier 3M ones. I also have my doubts about how long the motors will last because of the lighter materials. The height adjustment rod is exposed, which cheaper desks usually have covered, but it’s not a big deal to me. Overall, it’s a solid choice!
