I've gone through a few futon frames before, but I decided to give this one a shot. I usually avoid spending too much on a frame since they tend to break before you know it. This bed has solid slats with just the right spacing, and so far it hasn't broken, even when I stood on it to test. I use two mattresses because one just doesn’t cut it, so that might explain why I don't notice any gaps. It arrived in a surprisingly small box that was actually 8 feet long! I couldn't help but laugh when I saw it—thought something was missing! 😂 The assembly was straightforward. The instructions were clear, and the hardware was well organized with even some extra screws. I put this bed together in less space than it takes up, and it took me about an hour, building it piece by piece. I did it all by myself, and it really wasn't complicated. While it's suggested to have someone help with lifting and assembly, I've got some experience with that so it was a breeze for me. Plus, it's real wood—you can see the grain in the finish, not that cheap particle board. If I need another bed in the future, I’d buy from Hawkins Woodshop again.
