This is way nicer than a standard kennel. It's made from press wood, so I added a few protective coatings on the floor before putting in the bedding. The instructions were straightforward, and I had no trouble putting it together. I think it's going to last well. It's the perfect size!

We're crate training our older dog after his recent surgery, and this crate has been a great replacement for my bedside table. The size is perfect for both him and for keeping my essentials right by the bed! He’s adjusted well, and it looks in the room. Putting it together was easy too. I just wiped it down with a soft cloth and it looked great. It's a good quality crate and worth the money! The included pad is a bit thin, so if you want something plusher, I’d recommend getting an extra one. But for now, it actually works well for him given his recovery needs. Just a heads-up, this might be best for a dog that's already potty trained since there’s no removable bottom. Our dog is a 21lb westiepoo mix.
