Looks great and holds up well
I checked out the reviews before buying and saw some people mention returns, but this was the only thing that would work for us. Really solid product at a fair price. I've put together Sauder stuff before and had no trouble with it, even though some reviews mention assembly issues. Fair warning though - this thing ships in a seriously heavy box. Get a second person to help put it together if you can. It's a big, bulky cabinet and much easier with two sets of hands. Lay cardboard or a blanket down while you work since the surface scratches pretty easily, which makes sense given the material. Once it was all done, it looked. Honestly wish I'd thought to use wood glue on the dowels to be safe down the road. I spent way too long going back and forth on this because of the reviews, but we're glad we got it. If you're not comfortable assembling these kinds of things, maybe skip it. The instructions are detailed and you gotta follow them exactly - that's probably why some people have issues. The doors line up nicely and it holds a decent amount of stuff with a clean, simple look.

Good product
I read through the reviews before ordering and was worried about the one-star complaints. I'm pretty handy and can follow directions and use a drill, so I decided to go for it. Just gonna say - the instructions are clear about not standing it up or assembling it standing. If you ignore that, yeah it'll fall over. The one-star reviewers aren't being fair about this thing. It took a while to assemble because it's actually made well and sturdy. The doors were a pain to get aligned right - I'd say get someone to help you with that part. Everything else you can do solo. I've moved it around my room a bunch and it's packed with my husband's stuff. Haven't seen any signs of falling apart. Just make sure you don't over-tighten the screws or you'll crack the boards. Directions are clear, everything came packaged nicely (minus a couple boards but easy to figure out). For $152 this is a solid buy and looks great in our room. My husband is happy with it too.

No problems so far
My first shipment got lost, so I had to contact customer service to get a replacement sent. Not the seller's fault but was annoying to deal with. Once it arrived, all the parts came in good shape and assembly was straightforward. The instructions had some unclear spots but reading them more carefully cleared things up. I could put it together myself, though I needed help moving it around after. The doors were the trickiest part to attach alone. Overall the quality is solid, but I noticed the triangle piece on top isn't centered right—it's off by about 2mm to the left, which you can definitely see. The back of it is also unfinished and visible. Doesn't bother me since I pushed it into a corner, but something to keep in mind. Also the piece didn't mount perfectly level, so there's a smaller gap between it and the doors on the left side. It's not a big deal to me. There's a nylon strap included for wall mounting to prevent tipping, though I'm not sure how much I'd trust it to hold a 100 pound wardrobe in an earthquake. Then again if the quake is strong enough to tip it, the wardrobe is probably the least of my worries. One other thing—there are multiple spots for the shelf but only one for the clothes rod. Would be nice if the rod could go higher so you could fit a shelf underneath it.

Assembled easily enough; works great as a coat closet
I needed extra closet space on my first floor, so I grabbed this to store coats and jackets. Just a heads up—the hanging rod is a bit short because of the drawer underneath, so long coats won't fit, but jackets and midi-length coats work fine. Assembly was straightforward if you take your time. I forgot to attach the ballast at first (had someone help flip it over), then added those last. The parts came organized, instructions were clear with videos included, and everything arrived in good condition and ahead of schedule. Took most of an afternoon going slowly and cleaning up all the cardboard and foam as I went. I did most of it solo, though I've built a lot of furniture before. I did need help adjusting the door hinges since they rubbed at the bottom after I put them on. If you can, I'd recommend having two people when attaching the hinges—one to screw and one to hold the doors steady. This thing is heavy once it's done, which is fine for me since I plan to keep it around. There's decent storage in the drawer for hats and scarves, and the upper shelf holds more stuff. I didn't bolt it to the wall since I'm renting, but I'd probably do that if I owned the place.

Looks great but assembly is tough
I needed a closet for a bedroom I'm adding to my house, so I went ahead and ordered this one. It arrived well packed, and I'd suggest paying the delivery fee to have them bring it in—it's almost 150 lbs and took 2 people to haul it inside. Getting it out of the box was work in itself. Once we started assembly, I had to reach out to the manufacturer because I thought something was damaged, but they got back to me right away and sorted it out. Good to know they're responsive. The assembly instructions are clear enough, but the piece is so heavy that moving it around while putting it together is really challenging. It goes together smoothly until you get to the doors, and then it gets frustrating. I've got the doors on now, but they squeak when they open and close. We adjusted the screws probably 100 times trying to fix it with no luck. My husband and I are both working on it—I have vision issues and he has some mobility limitations—so that makes the whole process harder. There's a video online that walks you through it, which helped. The ash oak color looks nice and it's a solid piece of furniture. Once I get the door noise sorted out with another call to the manufacturer, I think it'll be a good buy.

Good quality and looks great
I checked out a bunch of reviews before buying this, especially since I saw a note about it being returned often. It fit our needs perfectly, and honestly, it’s a solid product at a fair price. I’ve put together Sauder pieces before, and we didn’t face any of the issues others mentioned. Just a heads up, it comes in a heavy box, so I’d recommend having two people to handle it—it made things a lot simpler. Also, I’d suggest laying the parts on cardboard or a blanket to avoid scratches, which is something to expect with this material. Once we finished assembling it, it turned out exactly as hoped. I actually wish I’d thought to use wood glue on the dowels to ensure everything stays snug in case any of the cams loosen over time. I spent a couple of months debating this purchase based on reviews, and I’m really glad we decided to go for it. If you're not comfortable with assembling flat-pack stuff, maybe pass on this one. Just make sure to closely follow the instructions—that might be why some people had issues. The doors close nicely, and it holds a decent amount of clothes while looking neat and tidy.

No issues experienced yet
My order got lost on the first delivery attempt, and I had to reach out to customer service for a replacement. I know it wasn’t Hawkins Woodshop’s fault, but it was a bit frustrating. When I finally got the parts, they were in good shape and pretty straightforward to assemble. The instructions were a bit confusing in spots, mainly because I skipped some text that would’ve helped clarify things. I managed to put it all together by myself, but I did need an extra pair of hands to move it once it was finished. The only tricky part was getting the doors on by myself. Overall, the quality is nice, but the triangle piece above the doors is slightly off-center, sticking out to the left by about 2mm. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s noticeable. The back side is unfinished, which isn’t an issue for me since the piece is in a corner. However, it doesn’t mount evenly, so there’s a bigger gap between the doors on the right than on the left. It doesn’t really bother me, but it might be an issue for someone else. They included a nylon strap to secure it to the wall, but I’m not sure how effective that would be for a 100-pound wardrobe in an earthquake. Although, if the earthquake is strong enough to tip that over, I probably won’t be worrying about it falling anyway! I also find it strange that they give you multiple options for the shelf but only one spot for the clothes rod. It would’ve been better if the rod was higher so I could fit the shelf underneath it.
