Fantastic Upgrade for Us
We definitely needed this upgrade! Our previous bed was a Queen, which was fine for me, but my 6'2" husband was cramped. Plus, it’s our first piece of furniture that we bought together. We should have done this years ago! My husband put the headboard together mostly by himself, and I helped with the frame and the drawers when I got home. Putting the drawers together was simple, but we found the connectors a bit tricky initially. He mentioned the headboard had a lot of small parts, but it came with all the tools we needed. I do wish the baskets had covers, but we love the power outlet at the top, the storage with the folding doors, and the LED lights that blink with music. The storage doors are surprisingly sturdy; I was worried they’d be weak, but they feel solid. It’s a great spot to hide toys or other items. The bed is massive! We can both lay down without bothering each other. I snagged it on a nice sale, too! We had to buy bigger pillows to match the new pillowcases, which is a small price to pay. We did run into a hiccup with the cutout for the power outlet not fitting, but I reached out to customer service, and they were quick to send a replacement that should work. I'm happy with this purchase. It’s sturdy, and I like how the slats fit into the frame.

I’m really happy with how this turned out. Once I got it all put together, it’s sturdy and feels well built. I now have plenty of extra storage! Just a heads up, like most flat-pack furniture, it comes completely unassembled, and the assembly is not a quick task. Be ready to spend some time on your hands and knees. I’m older and have some pretty bad arthritis, so I felt it for a couple of days after. I used to be a furniture maker, so I found the assembly fairly simple. The instructions were clear, but you basically set up the headboard upside down and backwards on the floor. I even accidentally put the smallest middle shelf upside down, and it’s a lot to piece together! If you’ve never assembled flat-pack furniture before, this might be a bit intimidating. Maybe start with some easier items, or consider hiring someone if you’re new or have health issues. Just a tip—it has to be assembled where you want it, as moving it once it's done isn’t an option. Overall, I think it was a fair price, especially since I got it during the spring sale. I’m pleased with how it looks!

We needed to upgrade my son's bed since he shot up to 6 feet tall, and the old twin just wasn’t cutting it anymore. After checking out different options, we decided on this one for a few reasons: it has extra storage behind the padded headboard, the headboard is a solid 51 inches tall and 8 inches deep, plus the sides are high enough to prevent things from falling off. The metal frame is very sturdy—no flimsy wooden slats here. The bed came well-packaged in one heavy box, and my husband and I took about 2.5 hours to assemble it, including cleaning up afterward. We're pretty experienced with IKEA stuff, so it wasn’t too bad. The parts were clearly labeled, and even without verbal instructions, we managed just fine. I will say that putting the padded headboard together upright was much easier than following the instructions to lay it down. All the necessary pieces were included, but having a drill with the right bits sped things up. Everything lined up perfectly, and there were no defects at all. My only gripe would be the drawers—they're quite small, even smaller than I expected based on the other beds we looked at. We might have to improvise something with them later, but for now, they’re okay. Overall, we're happy with the bed, and my son loves it too. A+ purchase!

Good storage and simple setup!
The instructions were easy to follow, with clear pictures and a list of how many screws you need for each step. Everything was organized nicely on a cardboard package, with screws labeled and sorted, plus a few extra parts included. This is a big piece, but honestly, it was the simplest one I've put together, which makes me wonder about some of the other reviews. The MDF looks nice, and it held up well when I accidentally dropped a heavy tool on it—no marks at all. The headboard feels solid, though it felt a bit wobbly until I added the back and metal frame, which really helped. It’s sturdy and has more storage than I thought it would. I didn’t use the under-bed drawers since they just roll freely on the floor, which probably wouldn't work well on carpet, but they do have decent space if you choose to use them. I have an adjustable base, so I can't comment on the noise or durability of the slats, but they seem stronger than the others I've had that use plywood strips. Overall, I got this for the headboard storage and like how the footboard looks. I'm satisfied with my purchase and it took about two hours to put together.
