This thing is great quality and looks really nice! It arrived packed well with tons of padding, which I appreciated. Works perfectly for our small pets with plenty of headroom—they can sit up all the way. We have a 15lb beagle and a 6lb cat, and they both fit, though we did customize it by drilling new holes to give the beagle a bit more space. Easy to do if you have a drill. Now they fit just right. We use it mainly for sleeping at night and they go in and out on their own during the day. The wheels are for moving it around when we need to. I'd say go for this size if you have small pets sharing it, or one regular-sized beagle would have plenty of room. Our babies love it and we're happy with it. Plus it got here fast, which was timing for their birthday week!

Really happy with this cage. Looks way better than the standard dog cages out there, and it's built solid. My dog has been hanging out in it with the door open since we got it set up, which is a good sign. Works great with the dog bed too - fits perfectly. Shipping was fast from Hawkins Woodshop and I'd get it again.

Definitely an upgrade
I switched from a regular wire crate to this one. The sliding door is convenient and it looks good. Noise-wise though, it's not really quieter than a wire crate when my dog moves around in it. The rattling is annoying. My dog is already crate trained so I haven't had to test if it can handle an escape attempt. Fair warning—assembly took forever. My husband spent a lot of time putting it together, so don't expect a quick setup.

This is just right for our small fur babies; they have plenty of headroom and can sit up comfortably. We have a grown beagle who weighs about 15 lbs and a tiny cat around 6 lbs. We did make some adjustments by placing the board between them for more space for our beagle. An XL might have worked better, but with a drill, it was easy to create new holes. Without that, it would have been too cramped for him. They both use it primarily for sleeping and enjoy going in and out during the day since we leave it open. The wheels make it easy to move around, which is a plus. I’d recommend this size for small pets sharing because it can fit a regular-sized beagle if the board is adjusted properly. My pets are happy with it, and so are we! Plus, it arrived quicker than I expected, which was great because it's their birthday week!

Awesome kennel!
I'm really surprised by how sturdy this kennel is, especially since it's made from particleboard. My dogs love their space and don’t try to bolt out (my girl even had a little nap in it before we set it where it belongs!). If they wanted to escape, they probably could, but they’re happy in there. It looks way better than the wire kennels, and the XL size is just right for my two golden retrievers and lab mix. The sliding door is a great addition; it saves space and works well. It took a little effort to put together, but we took our time and it turned out great, with the sliding door fitting just right on the first go.
