Bought this headboard for my stepson's bed. Looks good when it arrived, shipped without any damage, and the leather didn't have any funky odor. Nice touch that all the bolts and nuts were in the box. Put it together and it feels solid once everything's in place.

This is my second headboard from Hawkins Woodshop. First, I got the cloth one, and now I have the vinyl. Both are well-made and easy to put together. They both have a nice tailored style, but the vinyl version feels a bit more upscale. Just a heads up about the manufacturing smell—it was stronger with the cloth one. Just unpack it and let it air out for a few days before you set it up, and you’ll be good to go. Don’t let the other reviews scare you off. You can’t go wrong with this headboard; it's solid quality at a great price.

Never saw the need to buy a sturdy bedframe/headboard so I purchased a basic full-size metal bedframe for my mattress and decided it was time to get a headboard that would make my room look a bit more furnished. This black vinyl headboard is very classy and comfortable to lean against while watching tv. Pros:-easy to put together (although it would be a lot easier to have someone hold it up straight while another person tightens the screws).-Looks classy and makes your room more "put together".-The material used for the black vinyl does not give your bed a cheap look. Cons:-The wooden corner inside the headboard in the back where you attach the legs of the headboard to the bedframe was bent a little so I tried to unbend it and by doing so, I'm pretty sure it snapped but there is no apparent damage. Not sure why it was bent inwards and definitely not a reason to take off any stars since it was my own fault for not being more careful with the installation.-Each of the legs of the headboard are secured by 2 bolts and a few nuts and although it is sturdy enough to lean on/against with the wall in the back, I would not recommend putting too much pressure if there is space between your bed and the wall.

I made the mistake of buying a LinenSpa Mattress and Metal Bed Frame as a bundle, then purchasing this headboard thinking it was a standard fit. Unfortunately the holes do not line up so make sure you find a frame that matches this headboard. We needed a metal one because my kid occasionally jumps on his bed and I knew the cheaper wooden frames would not hold over time. As for the headboard itself, it’s perfect! I just bought an Eggshell Bedroom set, and just needed a cheap headboard to add my sons new Twin xl bed next to our Queen. Although it did not line up, and we couldn’t drill new holes because it lined up too close to the edges, we just ended up butting the bed and frame up to the headboard in the corner of the room and it’s worked great! I love the feel, easy to clean, and not that bright bright white which in my opinion looks dingy over time. It has a nice off white look but still bright enough to match white shelves. Overall, I looked up many headboards and this was the best one for its price. Again though, buy the matching frame, then mattress shop lol.

This is my second headboard from this company. The first was the cloth one and the second was the vinyl one. Both had exceptional build quality and were easy to put together. Both have a nice tailored look but the vinyl looks more upscale. One thing to keep in mind is the manufacturing smell which was far more present on the cloth version. Just unbox and air them out for a few days before installing and you will be fine, don’t listen to the drama from other reviewers. You really can’t go wrong with this piece, it’s great quality and great value which is a hard to get combination.
