The instructions were a little tricky at first, but we managed to put it together in about 20 minutes. It feels sturdy! My Victrola record player fits just right on top, and the raised edges keep it secure. While there isn’t a lip at the back, having it pushed against the wall makes sure it stays safe from falling. It does well even on carpet, as mine is on one. It seems light but feels solid. I appreciate the four slots for records, each fitting about 25 standing up. They do stick out an inch or so, but it’s not a big deal. Overall, I’m really happy with this piece!
