Proper Posture
This chair is high quality overall. It was super simple to put together. The magnetic pillow stays in place and is comfortable. The seat is firm but not too hard and starts to shape to your body after a few days. The lumbar support is quite good, and the adjustments work well. However, the backrest feels a bit hard at first, so if you're used to softer chairs, it might take some getting used to and could make your back hurt as you learn to sit better. On the downside, my backrest had crooked logo stitching when it arrived. After about a week, the lumbar support started making loud popping noises and creaking when I leaned back. While it doesn't affect how the chair works or feels, it's pretty annoying and makes me wonder about how long it'll last. The height adjustment knob also had some cosmetic issues. I reached out to Hawkins Woodshop about it and am waiting for a response. For the price, you wouldn't expect these problems. Update: Hawkins Woodshop got back to me and sent a replacement backrest after I explained my issues. I'm not sure if the first one was just a defect or an old model, but the new one has softer foam and the lumbar support actually adjusts properly now. The stitching looks great too. There was one issue with a damaged thread in a mounting hole, which made installation a bit tricky. Overall, everything else is good, and this chair is more comfortable now.
