Great furniture for the price
I looked around quite a bit before deciding on this piece. I was a bit hesitant to buy furniture without seeing it, but I've been really pleased with this chest, especially for the price. It's entirely made of wood and has a lot of useful space while looking nice too. It might not be enormous, but it actually holds more than I'd expected. I love having the shelf on top for storing gloves and other items. Putting it together was simple enough, especially if you have some experience with furniture assembly. Having an extra set of hands is helpful, but not required. I've had it for about 7 months now, and no problems so far. I would suggest getting this piece. 7/3/17 Edit: After around 4 years of use, it's still holding up great. I'm happy with my purchase. It's packed with stuff but has never let me down. Great furniture for the price—no regrets!

Everything works well and looks good! The only thing I might tweak is making the storage bench seat a bit sturdier. It has held up fine with both my daughter and me sitting on it together, but it feels like it could snap at any moment (though, to be fair, we probably weigh close to 300 lbs combined, and it hasn’t broken). Overall, we’re happy with this hall tree, especially given the price.

Instructions were clear and it took two of us about an hour to assemble. It's strong and sturdy overall, and we hang up to 8 coats on it without it looking overloaded. Shoes go underneath and boots go in the storage bench, with family pictures or seasonal ornaments on the top shelf. All very functional and pleasing to the eye! The only thing I'd change is to make the storage bench seat more substantial... Although it has withheld my daughter and I sitting on it together, it feels like it could split at any second (although in fairness, we total probably close to 300 lbs and it never has). Overall, we're very pleased with this hall tree, especially for the price.
