You'd be surprised at the functionality!
I like keeping my TVs as close to the wall as possible, but with the trend of larger TVs, this often means using a bulky mount that hinders access to cabling and backlighting. I mounted a 75” TV in my living room with a standard mount because I had no idea this option existed. However, when it was time to mount another 75” in my office, which has very tight space, I researched and found this solution. It lets me pivot the TV toward my desk when I need to and easily pull it away from the wall for any cable adjustments. The best part? You'd never know how much flexibility it offers based on how close the TV sits. Plus, it remains sturdy, and if your leveling isn't spot on, there's a little room for adjustment after it's hung.

Sturdy and discreet mount with great hardware!
I’ll start by saying this mount is just under an inch from the wall when it’s closed, which really helps it blend in. If you have a unique TV like mine, you might need to plan for some cord and cable connections that could prevent a snug fit against the wall. Luckily, that wasn't an issue for me, and I’m giving it five stars since it did exactly what I hoped based on the Hawkins Woodshop listing. I can't stand seeing mounts or cables sticking out, and this one is the tightest option I found. It feels well made and quite sturdy. I installed it into the studs on either side, but I’m confident that the included anchor screws would work fine in drywall too—just make sure to put at least two screws in the top holes on both sides. My TV has a strange shape, being 2 inches thick at the bottom and only a third of an inch at the top, but this mount, combined with an inset 1.5 frame box inside the wall, helped hide everything. I also like the side panels that cover the mounting hardware; they add a nice touch. The installation manual was clear and easy to follow, plus they included a handy template to help with leveling and spacing. The lag bolts were a bit bigger than I expected, which was a nice surprise. However, they came in silver while the mount is black, so I’d suggest they consider black screws for a uniform look. I simply spray painted mine, no big deal. The range of motion is great as well. I highly recommend this mount if you’re looking for something strong and discreet! This product is just as described. It adjusts easily, and the template makes installation straightforward. It sits perfectly flat against the wall, and it really is under an inch thick. I also installed a recessed outlet TV box so that the plug doesn’t stick out.
