Good functionality for the price
The shoe rack I got from Hawkins Woodshop came in a surprisingly small box. It’s got 10 shelves made from a tubular metal frame and fabric that stretches across. When I opened it up, there were over 100 pieces and an instruction sheet. As someone who loves putting things together, I didn’t mind and got right to it. It took me about 40 minutes to build. Each corner has a plastic piece for the metal tubes to go into, and I had to make sure they were all facing the right way before inserting the tubes. Once they’re in there, they’re not easy to pull out if you make a mistake (which I did a couple of times). But that actually makes me feel good knowing the finished product will be sturdy. I broke one of the plastic corners trying to fix a mistake, but luckily they included an extra piece! Not sure if that was planned or if I just got lucky, but I appreciate it. Once it was all put together, the rack is really light, so moving it around is a breeze. I wear size 13 shoes, and I did notice that some of my shoes stick out a bit at the back on certain styles. The shelves aren’t adjustable either, so my ankle-high shoes had a bit of a tight fit. But honestly, those aren’t deal-breakers when I think about how much it cost. I also like that it’s covered because I have a lot of shoes I don’t wear often and don’t want them gathering dust. All in all, I’m pretty pleased with this shoe rack. It keeps my shoes organized instead of piled up in the closet I share with my wife. For the price, it holds a good number of shoes and looks better than you'd think.

Great shoe rack and easy to customize.
I bought a second rack to add three tiers to the first one, so you’ll see it taller in my photos. It’s nice that you can do that since I have a lot of shoes for work and home. With the extra tiers, it holds all mine and my boyfriend’s shoes, even our hiking and golf shoes that we used to keep in the garage. You can create as many racks as you want for different spaces, but the cover that comes with it is only for the standard height. I just put one cover on the taller rack, and it works fine. You can't even tell the cover doesn't go all the way down since it’s between the wall and the washing machine. I like that I can use the front cover to keep my less worn heels dust-free but still grab my everyday shoes easily. The materials feel good—metal poles with sturdy plastic connectors and a fabric cover. I added extra tiers and loaded it with shoes, and it feels steady enough. Sure, a metal or wood rack would be sturdier, but this works well for the price and shows no signs of breaking. The fabric shelves are a bit hammock-like, so stiletto heels can tend to fall over if they aren’t leaning on something. There’s also a small gap at the ends where shoes can slip down, but I really loaded it up with five pairs per tier. For regular shoes, it’s been fine. Overall, this shoe rack cleaned up the mess in our house. Shoes were everywhere, and now they’re all neatly stored in the laundry room by the garage door. It looks great and is so convenient. I can't believe I waited so long to get something like this!
