Great desk!

I really love my desk. I use it with my recliner and my iPad, and it's for that! It's sturdy. Putting it together was a bit of a challenge for me since I'm 80, but my daughter helped me out after some effort. In the end, it was worth it. I highly recommend it. The wood looks great too!

Heavy and Sturdy

This thing is surprisingly sturdy, made from heavy gauge steel. From the way it was packaged to the quality of the product itself, I’d give it a solid 10/10 so far. I haven’t had it long enough to fully test its durability, but it seems well worth the price. I was a bit unsure after reading some reviews about its sturdiness, and I thought maybe I'd need to make some adjustments, but that doesn't seem necessary. Some folks mentioned their laptops falling because the desk tipped over, but I think that's just user error. The clamps are solid and adjustable, so you can make them as tight as you want. I can lean on the table, and it starts flexing well before the clamps even begin to slip. It’s clear some people might not have read the instruction manual on how to set the clamps properly. The only change I might make is regarding the table size for using a keyboard and mouse, especially since it’s meant for gaming. Given its sturdiness, I doubt it will be an issue to switch it out for a wider surface to accommodate larger keyboard and mouse mats.

Excellent, sturdy, well-designed.

Sturdy item, put together with no problem at all. (yes, there are always little challenges putting these type of things together - in this case, less than most). But it was simple and the parts are very solid and heavy. Everything is heavily overbuilt - thats a good thing. Once together and under the weight of the furniture, it is almost infinitely adjustable. Up/Down to get near your lap. Swings out and away, so you can simply give it a gentle push and stand up (kitchen run). The table tilts flat like you'd use for an eating surface, or angles toward you for laptop. The adjustment clamps are sturdy. You screw them down, then flip the handle flat and it torques the fitting down so it is clamped tightly into position (you can still swing it away effortlessly, though). Usually things like this, I could pick on for lots of little imperfections. But here, not really. It is exactly what I wanted, and they really delivered. I'm adding a wireless mouse to my laptop to use on the arm of my chair, just so I touch the touchpad less with my hands tented in that weird position, but thats a "me" thing" and no fault of the design, any adjustable arm holding a laptop would pose the same ergonomic challenge. When you swing it into your lap, you can twist the surface a little, like a steering wheel, so it's always presenting the laptop to you squarely. The wrist cushion is soft and has a nice texture, and keeps the laptop from sliding off if you adjust the surface to a severe angle. My old set-up was a small chromebook on the arm of my chair, but I got a new much larger laptop and it didn't balance there well, and if I knock it off it's gonna break, so I had to look into this type of device. This is a much more comfortable position for being online, the screen is at face level about 2 ft away, similar to driving position, instead of craning my neck forward and down. It was a little expensive, but now I see why, it's definitely an appropriate price for how sturdy and well-designed it is. I'm very happy with this purchase.
