Best Thing I've Bought in a While
I've been searching for a good mattress topper for plus-size side-sleepers, and after some research, I chose this one. My mattress is pretty cheap and bouncy, so I needed a topper that would support me and ease pressure on my back and hips. After the first night, I knew I picked the right one. I thought about going for a cheaper option since I'm on a tight budget, but I'm so glad I invested in this. I waited a few weeks to write this review and I still feel the same way. This topper is high quality. Setting it up was a breeze. I got the Twin size (3”) and it was ready to sleep on as soon as I finished making my bed. I actually laid down on it right after I set it up and slept like a rock. It fits my mattress perfectly and there’s no feeling like I might fall off when sitting on the edge. It's got a nice, elegant look to it too. The soft surface feels great even without sheets. I put a mattress protector on it because I want it to last, but it’s still super comfortable. Game Changer for Our Sleep
We really needed a new mattress topper for our old extra-firm mattress because I kept waking up with hip and back pain, sometimes even heading to the couch at 3 am. My husband was only getting about 6 hours of sleep too, and we thought it was just age catching up to us. After reading a ton about the best mattress toppers for 2024, I kept seeing good things about Viscosoft. I decided to try the 4-inch Select High Density topper. It came just a few days later, and once we unboxed it, it had some creases while expanding. But as it filled out, it smoothed out nicely. At first, it felt a bit soft, which worried me it might be too soft. Surprising enough, once I laid on it that night, it actually felt pretty firm. It shaped to my lower back well without making me sink in too much. I could roll over easily, which was a change from my old topper. That night, instead of waking up multiple times like usual, I woke up just once to use the bathroom and fell back asleep within seconds. My pain was gone! My husband only got up once too and ended up sleeping 8 1/2 hours—he hasn’t done that in years! I managed to sleep 9 hours. We both woke up feeling great! No More Aches!
This mattress topper has seriously transformed my sleep! My husband and I had been sleeping on a pretty firm latex mattress we've had for about ten years. We usually like firm mattresses, but it was getting uncomfortable, and we were waking up with aches and pains. We decided to give a topper a shot before committing to a new mattress. I saw this was labeled as a firm topper, but I find it more like a supportive hug—definitely not too firm since you do sink in a little. By the second night, my back pain was gone! I went with the 4-inch option since it could arrive faster, and I'm glad I did. I'm sure a 3-inch would have worked too, but I doubt 2 inches would have made a real difference. It fits perfectly on our king size bed, and our deep pocket sheets fit great. We noticed a slight smell at first, but it wasn't anything that bothered us at all. Like others who choose to buy those product I have a sleep number bed circa 2016. We paid $8,400 for a split king. I absolutely never found my right number. My husband has always fluctuated between moderately firm to firm as I felt trapped by a massive purchase. Recently I finally decided I needed to do something besides replacing my half of the bed. I researched and researched and after recently sleeping on a Purple mattress which was heavenly I thought yep I could deal with the memory foam. I ordered a 3-in. It does have a little bit of an off smell now that it's been about 6 days after the video. It's probably the only thing I'm not a fan of but I know it's not a strong as the day I unpacked it. I am a size 14 and I sink in pretty well. And I don't have any real problem flipping from side to side or getting up. And while it's made the mattress so much more comfortable, I might have overdone the thickness. But you know it's only been five nights total. I think it's a little early. What I do like is that while sleeping on my side my arm hasn't fallen asleep which almost always happened no matter how I had my sleep number set. I also absolutely know I haven't been having pressure points at my hips or knee. That too is wonderful. The only area that hasn't had big change is my lower back which is just a good back that has had a few surgeries and it's challenged at times. So I might be asking for a lot for this to be the game changer but it does have potential. I also adore that this model comes with straps and frankly I loved that the cover already came on the foam piece... Some brands come with just the foam and you have to put (or not) a slipcover on it. Or it comes with a slipcover separate and I'm just of no mind to struggle with the initial set up!! I let it air out for 48 hours. I had it in our guest room with the ceiling fan going and after 24 hours flipped it over so the other side would air out... I think the smell is going to go away probably in another week. Anyway we got it on top of my side of the bed. (btw, the twin xl is very one person friendly... But when the weight and the piece of the foam is unrolled and unsquished it becomes a little more gangly so if you're working on stairs it's probably smart to have somebody working with you.) I adjusted the straps to be pretty snug. Five sleeping nights later, and I get in and out of bed at least three times during the night, the piece has stayed put. If you do use the sleep number bed and sleep number sheets-- I have read that some people thought it pushes the limits of the sheets but my sheets fit exactly perfectly with this 3-in topper. I have no other memory foam or hybrid to compare this to so I really cannot say how it compares. But I'm giving it 5* because it really seems to be exactly what it's advertised to be. The price is more than fair for this twin xl size. I happen to really like the cover and it seems to all be staying on my bed okay. So I guess I'd say it's a good risk to take.
