There is nothing to assemble. That is the first thing worth saying, because a small desk normally arrives as a flat box of panels, a bag of cam locks, and an hour of your Saturday. This one ships ready to use. Unfold the legs, set it down, put the laptop on it.
Open, it measures 32.6 inches long, 15.7 inches wide, and 29.5 inches high. That is a real working depth for a laptop and a notebook side by side, in a width that fits a dorm room, a bedroom corner, a finished basement, or the odd narrow stretch of wall in an apartment where nothing else has ever fit. Folded, the desk collapses to 2.7 inches. It slides behind a door, under a bed, or into a closet, which is the whole reason to buy a folding desk in the first place.
The top is finished in rustic brown over a thickened metal frame. The powder coated finish is there to take abuse: scratches from a laptop dragged across it, the bump of a chair arm, a sweating glass left too long in one spot. It also resists moisture, which matters if the desk ends up in a basement or comes outside now and then. This is not delicate furniture and it is not pretending to be.
People end up using this desk for different things. It works as a computer station, a gaming setup for a compact rig, a home office desk in a house with no spare room, and a fold out table you carry to a picnic or open up for a study session and then put away again.
