Just a heads up—make sure to align all the holes before you start fastening stuff. I had to go back and fix a panel that I had flipped the wrong way, which was a bit frustrating. The locking mechanism is simple to use and there are additional spring locks inside the door, making it hard for any escape artists to get out. Great kennel, except...
I found a couple of extra latches that someone didn’t think we needed, but they really were a must-have! Once I added them, the door issue was all sorted out. Overall, I’m happy with this kennel. It looks nice, has solid construction, and fits our two 45 lb. Dogs comfortably, who love snuggling up together. Putting it together was a breeze, and everything lined up perfectly on the first try. Just a heads up, though—it’s pretty heavy at about 75 pounds when it’s all set up, so you want at least two people for assembly (we had three!). We built it on the bed, which worked out well for us. Once it was done, it was pretty tricky to lift down. The included feet help it slide easily on the floor. I recommend using some twine or long ties to keep the doors from banging around during assembly. And make sure you decide which door you want to use ahead of time. Now for the downside—while the dogs seemed to settle in without any trouble, we woke up to puppy kisses and tails thumping against us in bed at 4:15 AM! The slide locks didn’t hold the doors shut tightly, but they didn’t seem to open on their own. Clearly, those treats we give our pups have taught them a few tricks. It’s a great crate and looks nice in our home, but we’ll need to tweak the latch system today!
