Great for Our Dog!
We’ve got a lab mix who’s getting pretty tall, and this kennel is perfect for her. She can sit, stand, and stretch without a worry, and it looks nice in our living room too. I put it together myself, which was great. Her current bowls fit into the stand, so we’ll keep using those as travel bowls. I do have a couple of small issues, but they don’t take away from how great it is overall. There are seams on the top that I wish weren’t there—solid pieces would have looked better. Also, I wish the swivel panel could go on either side since it’s next to a wall, so we can’t use that feature. At first, the doors caught a bit, but I adjusted the feet, and now they work perfectly. The latches are fine but could be a little smoother. In the end, I’d give this a solid 4.8! Worth it!

I have a 95-pound German shepherd and I was looking for a kennel that would be spacious enough for him. This one has worked out really well. It's solid and looks nice too. I like that it has double locks on both the top and bottom—my last kennel only had one lock and he learned how to open it pretty fast. No problems with this one. Overall, I'm satisfied with the size and quality.

Nice crate with superb support
I got this pen, but it arrived in pretty rough shape. The box had a big dent and a hole on the side that was large enough for the whole hardware package to fall out. So I couldn't put it together at all. Thankfully, this wasn't Hawkins Woodshop's fault; it was really on FedEx. They even took a delivery photo that hid the damage. Colby was though! He helped me quickly figure out how to solve the problem and sent out a new hardware pack right away. Their customer service is top-notch! As for the crate itself, it's nice. Putting it together took a bit because there are quite a few parts, but the directions were clear, so it wasn’t too hard. It looks and is sturdy, plus the rotating end panel makes it easy to access the food and water bowls. Just a heads up for anyone interested—it's a strange size. I usually put a tray in my crates to catch any spills, but I couldn't find one that fits this crate, which is a bit of a letdown.

I’ve got to say, this crate is really nice! It was a bit tricky to put together, but I might have been a little sleep-deprived. I have a larger pit bull who’s about the size of a full-grown lab, and she fits in it perfectly—she can spin around and stretch out comfortably. On the other side, I have my blue healer mix who could probably do gymnastics in there if she wanted to! Overall, I’m impressed with the size and how good this crate looks. The latch style isn’t my favorite, but it works fine for my dogs. I'll update later on how it holds up with my lively pups.

The best piece of furniture I’ve ever assembled
This is the best purchase I’ve made in a long time. I have a very small office space but my dog spends all his time with me. He’s getting older and I needed a safe place for him when I have to leave the house. I wanted a large crate where he could sleep, eat or play. The 86.2” crate is perfect. It functions as a desk (when using a drafting chair-it’s very tall) when I am working. The instructions were very well thought out; I had no trouble with assembly. It is a sturdy, well built piece of beautiful furniture. Plan about 3 hours for assembly and be patient. The tolerances are perfect, meaning snug so that it is sturdy. That requires patience. Do not force pieces together but rather try different angles and they easily slip into place. I recommend having two people to assemble so that someone can hold the piece while the other tightens the screws, but I managed to do it by myself. I am a 5’6” tall woman of average strength and I was able to move the crate as I needed to. My dog is a 106lb Czech Shepherd. He can stand up with room above his head and easily turn around. He was excited to go in after watching me build it. This product gives me peace of mind when I have to leave my buddy behind. Also, the locks on the doors are escape proof. I built the crate to be one large room to give him maximum space but it has a divider which can easily be installed if you have two dogs and even the individual crates if divided into two are very roomy.

Perfect size for our furry dog
Perfect size for my Dog!! I have a Labrador that is almost 90 pounds and he fits comfortably and still has a little room to place his toys on the side. Crate needs to be assembled and can take more than an 1hr. Is metal so is an stable material and also wood. Only complaint is that is getting a bit rusty in the front area in the doors. Besides that, it has been a great addition to our Living Room and the design matches or room decor.

I have a 95 pound German shepherd, I needed a kennel that would fit his large frame and provide additional room to move around so he wouldn’t feel cramped. This one has worked out nicely. It’s good quality and looks good. I also appreciate the double locks on top and bottom, my old kennel had one lock on the top and my dog figured out how to open it in about an hour using his tongue to flip up the latch. No issues with that here. Over all happy with the fit, finish, and size

Great pen, and Great customer support
I received this penin terrible condition. The box was bent, damaged and a 12" hole ripped in tge side. The hole was big enough for the entire hardware package(screws, nuts, etc...) to fall out, which it did. So there was no way to assemble the pen. This was not the fault of Hawkins Woodshop, it was the fault of fedex. When they took their delivery photo, they even positioned the box to hide the damage. Hawkins Woodshop was awesome! They worked with me to find the best, fastest way to resolve the issue. They sent me a new hardware pack right away which contained all of the missing pics. Great customer support! Regarding the crate, it's really nice. Assemble took a while, because there are a lot of parts. But the instructions were good, so it wasn't difficult. It looks great, is sturdy and has a real cool feature where the end panel rotates to maje it easy to get to the food and water bowls. Edit- 21Sept2025Still love the crate, and its holding up very well. The one note I would make is that it is an odd size. I like to put a plastic or metal tray in my crates, in case there is an accident. There are absolutely zero trays that will fit this crate. Thats disappointing.
