The colors are a nice deep black, and the latches function really well, with grooves that let you know they're secure, which has stopped my little escape artist shelties from getting out. This crate arrived really well packaged, like it was a fancy handbag or something. The instructions were simple to follow, almost like building with Legos, and all the tools were included. Just a tip: make sure to line up all the holes before you start screwing things together. I learned the hard way when I noticed a panel was on upside down and had to undo a bunch of screws to fix it. I'm honestly impressed by how solid and well-designed this crate is. The white finish looks great too. It's surprisingly heavy and sturdy. The raised floor design is a great feature because it keeps hair and dirt from getting stuck inside. The door locks easily and even has an extra set of spring locks on the inside so it can open from either side. I can't picture any escape artist dogs getting out of this one! I originally didn't plan on needing a kennel for long term, but my cocker spaniel had other ideas, so I ended up ordering a couple of these. I'm happy I did. They look in my space—check out the before and after! My cocker fits nicely in the medium kennel, while my boxer has lots of room in the XL. They even share the XL at night!

I found a couple of extra latches that someone—who shall remain nameless—didn't think were necessary. Turns out they were! Fixed the door issue! I'm really pleased with this crate and might even get a larger one if the pups outgrow this one. It looks nice, feels sturdy, and is generous enough for our two 45-pound dogs who love to cuddle. Assembly was a breeze, and everything fit together perfectly on the first try. A heads-up, though: it weighs about 75 pounds once put together, so you'll want two people to lift it (we had three!). We chose to cut the top off the box and assemble it on the bed, which made things easier since getting back up from the floor would have been a struggle for us. Once built, it glides smoothly on the included feet. I recommend using some twine or twist ties on the doors before you put it together, or you'll be dealing with them banging around every few minutes. Oh, and have a plan for which door to use and how you want it to open. Now for the not-so-great part... Our dogs went in without any issues, easily settled down, but at 4:15 AM, we were startled awake by puppy kisses and wagging tails! We thought the slide locks were secure, but they didn't keep the doors shut tight against the kennel. Looks like our pups learned a few tricks with those treat puzzles! So, it's a great crate and pretty nice to look at, but we’ll be working on the latch today!
