Awesome coffee table!
I've dealt with assemble-it-yourself furniture before, and this one is a solid find. It’s not real wood, but it feels heavy duty from the hardware to the closing mechanisms. Just be careful with it—using coasters is a must! I’ve read reviews about missing pieces, but everything was there, all labeled nicely, and they even tossed in some extras, which is a nice touch since not everyone does that. The instructions were easy to follow, and I managed to put it together solo, even though they suggest getting help, especially for the top—it’s pretty hefty, over a hundred pounds for sure. I had to use a board to help lift the top while I secured it, but I made it work. The photos on the Hawkins Woodshop site match what I got; it looks really nice. The doors slide smoothly too, no weird gaps or anything. Overall, I'm pleased with this coffee table. Just a small tip—don't overdo it when tightening the cam locks; I twisted one off trying to be too forceful. Oh, and for the sliding doors, consider putting tape on the hinge screws to avoid scratches if you have kids around. A quick fix for any scrapes is just a brown crayon to hide them. Happy with my purchase!

Table top lift direction can be reversed
I noticed a lot of reviews mentioning they wished the table top lifted in the opposite direction, with the doors facing away from the couch. If you follow the assembly instructions as they are, the top lifts toward the doors and hides them behind the couch. To get it right, you'll need to tweak a few things while putting it together: 1. Attach the legs to the end pieces in reverse—put the legs for end piece 14 on end piece 13 and swap them. 2. When adding the end pieces and legs to the main unit, follow the opposite of the instructions, installing piece 13 where it says 14 and so on. 3. Rotate the table top 180 degrees during installation. By doing this, the top will lift toward the back and let the doors face the room. As for the quality, it's decent for what you pay. Everything fits well and feels solid. Just remember you need to lift the top with both hands for it to work smoothly. The wood veneer looks good, and the finish seems real, not cheap. Overall, I’d say it’s a solid buy for the price.

Great support, strong table, but the top could improve.
I’d say the item is around 4 stars, but I’m giving it a full 5 because of the fantastic customer service. I reached out when my package was marked delivered but never showed up, and the team at Hawkins Woodshop got back to me the same day to sort it all out. They sent a replacement table, which arrived the next day. The table itself feels pretty sturdy overall, though the lifting mechanisms seem a bit weak—needs two hands to lift it, and you should avoid putting too much weight on it while moving it up and down, as it doesn’t lift smoothly. I wish the tabletop could be reversible or that it could open in the other direction without needing to drill. It would be nice to have barn doors on both sides for a better look no matter which way it faces. That said, the table is solid, and there's great storage space underneath the top. The assembly instructions were clear, and it took about 45 minutes to an hour to put together. One person can handle most of it, but having another person when attaching the tabletop would help keep it even. Overall, it's a solid piece, especially for the price—it looks like something you'd find in a regular furniture store.

Love this coffee table!
I’m so happy with this coffee table! The assembly instructions were straightforward, and I managed to put it together on my own. The color is just right, and it’s bigger than my old Ashley lift-top table. I would definitely buy from Hawkins Woodshop again!

Sturdy and looks great
This piece is definitely on the heavier side, which isn’t a problem for me, but the delivery guy struggled getting it up my stairs and didn’t mention it was left sitting out in the snow. I ended up waiting for my daughter to help me bring it inside. It took a few hours to assemble, and I had to get my husband to help stabilize things. But once it was together, I knew it would be great. The instructions were clear, and the final product feels sturdy with a lovely rustic finish. I adore the barn doors and the extra storage it provides. The pop-up table feature is, making it easier to work while sitting on the couch. The top moves smoothly when you close it—just lift it gently and let it lower itself. Overall, I’m impressed with the details!

I'm giving this a full 5-star rating mainly for the great customer service. I had an issue with my package not arriving even though it was marked as delivered. I reached out, and Colby responded the same day and sorted it out, sending me a new table by the next day. The table itself feels solid, but the lifting mechanism isn’t the strongest. You’ll definitely need two hands to lift it, and it's best not to overload it while doing so as it won't lift smoothly otherwise. I also wish the tabletop could flip or be installed to swing in the other direction without needing to drill. It would be nice to have barn doors opening on both sides for a better look from either angle. That said, overall, the table is sturdy and offers a lot of storage space underneath. The assembly instructions were easy to follow, and it took about 45 minutes to an hour to set up. One person can do most of it alone, but having a second person would help a lot when you’re attaching the tabletop for an even fit. Overall, it's a good find for the price, and it looks like something you’d find in a regular furniture store.
