Is actually sturdy
Most of the desks I've gotten from Hawkins Woodshop have been cheap, wobbly messes that you have to continually tighten, etc. This one turned out to be pretty sturdy. The wood is particle board with a laminate, but I had no problems building it, it doesn't wobble, and my kid loves it.

All aroung excellent choice
Rarely do I write a review. However, this desk office is great. The price is excellent. Its design provides for great air exchange for your computer. Its light weight allows for easy movement/placement of the desk. The desk can be put together in 10 to 15 minutes. The base is metal with screws that are threaded into metal inserts into the the top. The top is one solid piece. This is a very solid desk. The top is high enough to allow excellent leg room. I have spent thousands on executive desks in the past which are heavy, cumbersome to move, limit leg room movement due to height, and have average connection points between parts of the desk leading to failure. This is an excellent desk on all points.
