Just What My Grandson Wanted For His Bedroom
My 10 year old grandson decided to re-design his bedroom and picked this floating desk sending grandpa the Hawkins Woodshop links. Good reviews overall so I ordered. Lots of pieces and hardware. Following the directions and good pics, it was fairly easy to put together in a couple of hours. Hanging it on the wall is another matter. There were 4 anchors and screws for drywall and would have worked ok. But always better to find a wood stud. I have a stud finder and found one on each side of the desk. I had to drill different holes, but no big deal with a drill and bits. You do need different screws that are longer and would have been nice to have them supplied as an option. Directions for mounting could have been clearer if you've never done it before. The only flaw in all the pieces was a missing knob hole in one of the door panels. Easy to drill in the same location as the other door. It's a little tricky to put the hinged door in. I had to loosen the 2 top panel screews completely to raise up just a little to get the spring loaded hinges in the holes. My grandson loves the floating desk and I would recommend if you're looking for a small type tv desk that takes very little room. His tv will be mounted on the wall above.
