Takes a lot to put together
This was harder to put together than I imagined after unpacking. However, it is a solid and beautiful desk once it is put together. I would definitely recommend to do it with someone else, but I got it by myself eventually. Overall, the instructions were clear to understand and the end result is well worth the work.

Good desk, Slow Support
Good and sturdy desk, but trying to contact Hawkins Woodshop for replacement parts is difficult. My slides on the filing cabinet were faulty and I've reached out to Hawkins Woodshop through both Hawkins Woodshop and their website without hearing back. Update: Hawkins Woodshop did get back to me, and they gave me enough information that I went back and fiddled with the cabinet sliders some more. When installing the drawer, if it catches and seems to jam, push from the bottom portion of the fluted panel and the top simultaneously and give it a good shove. Then open and close it til the slides even out and it stops sticking.

This box is very heavy. Be prepared. Upon opening the box, I had a feeling that it would take me a long time to complete. It seemed pretty complex with the assortment of pieces. I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of assembly - I thought I had it down… up until it was time to put together the stand up desk section. That entire part took me forever. The manufacturer really needs to change the tools/screw needed for that part. It was extremely challenging. It took longer to do that compared to everything else. In total, it was about 3 hours or so until I was completely finished and had set up my computer system. Everything was packaged nicely and it arrived 3 days sooner than I was expecting (woohoo!). Minus 1 star because the screw needs to be updated (seriously- my hands are sore, have a cut or two & inflamed). Overall, it looks beautiful, seems sturdy and I’m very happy with my purchase. I will update this review if it doesn’t hold up!
