Great desk, don’t worry about the two pieces.
I picked this up for $250 last May, and it’s probably the best thing I've bought from Hawkins Woodshop. Now it’s down to $200, which is a great deal. Don't be put off by the two-piece surface—it’s very stable and sturdy. The top is scratch resistant, so don't worry about writing too hard. They split the surface to ship it in a smaller box, but you won't notice the seam. It’s 18.75 inches from the front to where it divides. Unless you’re drawing or using paper a lot, you shouldn’t have any issues with it. If you use a computer like I do, this desk is a value and much better than competitors that cost almost double. It’s just as stable as the name-brand standing desks at my office and I’ve raised and lowered it without any issues for a year. Assembly was simple, just don't over-tighten the screws first. It has a nice workspace and the cherry red looks good. I even think it was worth the price I paid back then.

Great Desk - Sturdy and Easy to Assemble
The desk showed up a day early, which was nice. I set it up at work by myself in about an hour and 15 minutes, but it'll go faster with a second person. It came with enough hardware, including extras. The top is in two pieces, and most screws use an Allen wrench, except for the height controls, which need a star screwdriver. There are four height presets, and the range goes from 69 to 114. It's super sturdy; I got the 48" model, and it has plenty of space for my two monitors, which is for my work. The instructions were clear, but make sure to start all the screws first before tightening them to avoid issues later. You can also move the hooks and basket around according to your needs. I was skeptical since it’s under $200, but it's been great, and I'm happy with my purchase. Just a heads-up: it needs to be plugged in to work, which I wasn't expecting, but that’s manageable. The only minor issue is that sometimes the height button pauses when you're trying to adjust it, but that's not a big deal. Overall, a solid buy!

Good price, quick to put together alone.
I got this desk in March 2020 to help me work from home. I'm on the shorter side, and most standing desks are too tall for me, so I needed something adjustable and budget-friendly. Putting it together was pretty simple, took about an hour and a half with some breaks to check emails. All the screws, dowels, and tools were grouped nicely, and they even included extras. Each part was labeled, making it easy to follow the instructions. One tricky part was that the leg with the motor doesn't stand on its own, so I used packing materials to hold it up while I worked on the rest. No big deal. I did need my own screwdriver for some smaller screws, which was a bit annoying since I expected all screws to fit the provided hex wrench. The tabletop is in two pieces that connect with dowels. I don’t notice the seam much, but some might care about that. It feels sturdy enough with the screws securing it well. The desk worked right away when I plugged it in. The controls for height adjustments are easy to use. It is a bit wobbly, more than the desks at my office, but they’re likely pricier too. It shakes a little when I adjust the height or type, but my drinks stay put, so I don't worry about spills. Just a heads up that if you’re bigger, you might want something sturdier. I've only had it a week, so I can't speak to the motor's durability, but for now, I’m happy with it.
