Very nice desk. But extremely, extremely time consuming to put together it took me a total of 13 hours alone and then I needed a second person to help in the end.

Nice, solid desk
I took a chance to purchase this without any reviews and I am glad I did. I looked at the other product reviews for items from this Hawkins Woodshop and they encouraged me. Now you can purchase with more confidence that I did. This desk will come in 2 boxes and there are many parts. We unpacked everything first. We placed all part numbers facing up and then verified everything before starting the build. The desk was well packed and there were zero damaged or missing parts. The desktop and drawers are solid wood. The sides and back are particle board. (Carefully screw the posts in and once they are installed, do not put sideways pressure on them or they will break - this is not unique to this desk, just all particle board assemblies)The build took 3 hours, with 2 people. There are lots of fasteners - posts, screws, cam locking nuts. All the holes are predrilled and everything lined up perfectly. The instructions are good, but there are a lot of them, as you would expect. If you can assemble Legos, you can do this!
