Great Desk for My Office! Wish I'd Bought It Sooner!
This desk is really nice! I was a bit hesitant since there weren't a ton of detailed reviews, but I went for it anyway. It showed up on time and in condition, with everything included. I've put together a few furniture pieces before, so I had an idea of what to expect. The cabinet had quite a few pieces, but the desk itself was simpler. The hardware was clearly labeled, and the instructions were straightforward with good pictures. It even came with a screwdriver and a small wrench. Altogether, it took me about 5 hours to put both parts together. I used an impact driver on a low setting when I could, along with a regular screwdriver. Nothing broke or got stripped, which was nice. I recommend not tightening everything down as you go—just make things snug until the end. The panels aren’t real wood, so they don’t need to be tight. I decided to tighten the top while it was flipped over, but I think doing it from underneath worked better for me. A good tip I read is to lift the desk by the frame, not the top wood part, but it’s pretty easy to move around otherwise. I love the color contrast, and the white aluminum frame looks. Overall, I'm happy with this office desk. I'd rate the assembly difficulty around a 3 out of 10. It's not too bad if you're patient and follow the instructions. Would recommend!

I just set up my new desk, and I'm really happy with it! This is my first time buying a desk, so I did a lot of research before finally deciding. I looked at tons of options, thinking about how I’d use it, what features I needed, the style, and of course, the price. I came close to choosing a typical L-desk with a hutch, but then I found this one from Hawkins Woodshop. It’s at the high end of my budget, but it seemed like the fit. Now that it's put together, I’m so glad I chose this desk. It’s high quality and has plenty of space. It did come missing one piece—just one of the metal tubes for the file cabinet, which isn't a deal-breaker, but still a bit annoying. Putting it together took me about 3 hours by myself. Most of it was pretty straightforward, but there was a tricky part with the sliding tracks for the file cabinet. The instructions weren’t clear about how to connect them, but after a bit of fiddling, I managed to get it done. I hope Hawkins Woodshop can send me that missing piece, but even without it, I’m pleased with this desk. If you're thinking about it, go for it! It's a solid purchase for the price.

I’m really happy with this desk! It comes in two parts— the main desk and a side piece, just like I wanted. You can easily join them if you prefer. The finish and color look. It did take some time to assemble, but it included all the tools I needed, including a real screwdriver instead of just a tiny Allen wrench. The instructions were straightforward, too.

Really happy with my new desk
I’ve got decent skills when it comes to DIY projects, so I knew I could manage the assembly. The instructions aren't perfect, and occasionally I had to look ahead a bit to see how everything would come together. But, everything did fit as it should in the end. The desk itself is great—spacious and comfortable, with height for me. It feels sturdy, but you need to be patient with the L-wrenches; there were times I was struggling to get a good turn and had to reset to tighten the corners. My main gripe was that the instructions left me a bit confused about which way to hold some of the pieces. Plus, I found two sets of pieces were mixed up, but I just swapped them during assembly and it all worked out. I put both pieces together solo in about five hours total, spread over two days since they arrived separately. If you're building this by yourself, I'd recommend having something adjustable on hand to help with leveling the boards. Overall, pleased!
