This is a great piece! The wood is real wood and sturdy. It came a lot darker than the pictures. I wonder if that varies every time. Assembly was easy, but in my opinion step 2 in the instructions should have gone before step 1. There was a tiny crack on one of the shelves which is understandable given its real wood and fedex likes to toss their packages around. There's a small amount of imperfections that are noticed when assembling but once its all together its really solid. Nothing out of the ordinary for the price point.
