Better Than Expected
Didn't plan on reviewing this but felt like I had to. The other reviews were pretty mixed and I was hesitant about ordering, but honestly it's solid. Everyone made it sound like a pain and cheaply made, but that's not the case. You get exactly what you're paying for. That "8 hours to build" comment is way off. It's the same kind of assembly as putting together a basic shelf from Walmart or IKEA. Yeah there's more pieces because it's more complex than just a box, but anyone can handle it if you read the instructions and actually pay attention. Definitely worth the money. The quality is fine. It's budget-friendly compared to other similar crates, especially in black. If you want solid wood you're looking at spending way more. Anyone thinking they're getting real wood for $200 is fooling themselves. Looks nice and the frame is sturdy. The bottom is particle board like most things are, so throw a mat or bed in there for your dog, which they should have anyway. If your dog has accidents it could be a problem, but the whole point of a crate is to make your dog feel secure. All in all, solid purchase. Not hard to put together at all and you're getting what you paid for. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about it.

Wasn't sure about ordering this one since there weren't many reviews out there yet, but figured we'd give it a shot. Turned out to be a good call. The thing feels sturdy enough, though putting it together took some time. Lots of parts to work with, but they're all labeled and nothing was missing. They threw in some extra screws too, which is helpful if you happen to drop a few. The assembly tools are there, but honestly I'd suggest having some decent tools of your own if you want to avoid getting frustrated halfway through.

I bought this after having to throw out a much bigger and expensive similar furniture dog crate for my dog and I have Zero regrets! This is a great product and here’s why…. The bottom of the unit is all metal except the base which is wood but the trim around it is metal. This is great because if you have a dog that you recently got or is a puppy then there are going to be a few learning curves when it comes to potty training and chewing. I learned the hard way because the previous furniture piece, although very pretty, did not last three months! It was made of all wood and if there was a potty accident the wood would soak it all up and it quickly started to smell, one time he had an accident right in front of the old unit and it went underneath but because the old unit went all the way to the floor and was heavy, it would soak the dog urine underneath and would be really hard to remove. But not this unit, this unit is lifted from the ground and can easily be cleaned underneath. The walls are made of metal so he doesn’t chew anything at all and the unit still looks good. There is tons of storage space with all the shelves on top and the two drawers. The metal mesh spacer between the drawers and the crate is so wonderful because he can’t jump up there and chew on anything. In my old unit the dog would get up on his two legs and chew the back of the drawers. The two entrances, even though it would be better if you had a choice as to where they go, are still extremely convenient. I love how there is the option to have a middle divider but if you don’t want it you can leave it out and there is no weird bump sticking out in the middle of the floor in the crate. It’s a flat surface and you can put a doggy bed all across the floor of entire the crate just fine. The wood is not the best but it’s not bad either and I do believe it was well made and everything was well labeled and the instructions were easy and pretty clear. No issues there at all. It’s actually a really really good buy for the price. My dog seems much more comfortable now. The latch works great and he can’t open this one like he used to be able to in the old unit. Over all this is a great buy in my opinion!
