I'm really happy with this kitchen island. It's sturdy, moves easily, and has plenty of storage. The self-closing cabinet doors are nice and quiet, and the top looks. I needed extra space in my small kitchen, and this fits perfectly! I picked this island after looking at many options at Hawkins Woodshop, and I'm glad I did. I absolutely love this island! Our kitchen has barely any counter space, and living in a multi-family home, this has helped us tackle the "no space to cook" problem. The front and back wheels lock securely, and it's sturdy enough that my one-year-old won’t knock it over, which is a relief. Plus, it's easy to move when I need to clean underneath it. It's been handy, and now my four-year-old can easily grab her step stool to help me out in the kitchen! At 5'8, it's just the right height for me, and my mother-in-law, who is about 5'4, finds it comfortable as well. The assembly was straightforward; all the dowels and screws come nicely organized in their own box. One package of dowels had opened, but luckily all the pieces were still there. They also included extras, which is a nice touch. A couple of things to keep in mind: the box it arrives in is heavy, so I had to slide it to the dining room to start putting it together. You’ll want a big space to lay everything out. The instructions are simple, but it does take some time to manually screw everything in with the little screwdriver they provide. The holes are pre-drilled, but if you use a drill, you're likely to split the wood. If you have arthritis or similar issues, having a helper would be a good idea! Lastly, the cabinet doors look like they might touch in the pictures, but once assembled, there’s actually about a quarter inch gap between them.

I am extremely pleased with this kitchen island. It is sturdy, rolls well, has good storage, the cabinet doors are self-closing (quiet), and the top is beautiful. I needed more storage and work space for my small kitchen and this works perfect! I choose this island after checking out many listed on Hawkins Woodshop and am very glad I did. It takes awhile to assemble but I was able to complete it by myself. The parts are labeled and organized well, and the step-by-step instructions are clear enough to get it done relatively efficiently.

I love this Island. We have little to no counter space and live in a multi-family home. This solves the "no space to cook" issue we've been facing. The front and back wheels lock in place. Its stable enough that my 1 year old isn't pushing it over, its not some added hazard of the home. Its somehow also easy enough to move to sweep and mop under. Its been nothing but convenient. My 4 y/o can now grab her step stool and help mama cook! I had to slide it to the dining room to work on. You need a large space to separate each piece to their step to make building easier.-The instructions are simple but the work is tedious as you have to manually place all of the screws with the little screwdriver provided. The holes are pre-drilled but its still necessary to manually screw in. If you use a drill you'll split the wood. If you have arthritis, you'll definitely want some assistance putting this together.-The cabinet doors appear to touch each other in the photo provided but, when built, they have about a quarter inch of space between them.
