Beautiful boards with a great scent
Right when I opened the box, I was hit with the wonderful scent of the natural wood. There's something kind of nostalgic about it that I can't quite describe. The boards are also gorgeous! I usually keep my cutting boards tucked away, but these ones look so nice that I’ve put them on my kitchen counter. The set includes three boards in varying sizes, with the biggest one being a solid size, and the smallest still perfect for slicing up a few veggies. They have a smooth surface that feels like it’s been taken care of well with milling and oiling. Cleaning them was easy, and they dried off quickly with a towel. I love the sleek design without the usual groove around the edge; instead, they’ve got this slight indent that catches juices without making a mess. The handles on the bottom are handy, too. The acacia cutting boards look very nice and I like the beautiful wood grain that almost makes them too beautiful to cut on! All three cutting boards have grooves so that any juice will go into the grooves and not spill over onto your kitchen counter. Although I have mainly used them as a cutting board for vegetables and meat, it is nice enough to set out if you want to put meat and cheeses on it as a display charcuterie board. The matching cutting board stand is also made of the same acacia wood and handy for keeping these cutting boards slotted and in order in my cupboard. As soon as I opened the package, I could smell the lovely natural wood of these cutting boards. There's something oddly nostalgic about the scent of the wood that I can't get past, though it's hard to place. And the boards are just so pretty! Normally I store my cutting boards in one of the cupboards, but this set looks so lovely I've decided to keep it out on the kitchen counter. The set comes with cutting boards in three sizes, the largest of which is a good hefty size, and the smallest one still big enough to slice up a few vegetables. The wood has a silky smooth surface that you can tell has been milled and oiled well. The boards were easy to clean in the sink, and quick to dry off with a dish towel. The cutting boards smell nice, they look nice, and they have a lovely streamlined design. Rather than the typical "groove around the edge", these boards have a very slightly angled indent that allows juices to collect at the top, away from you. On the underside there are two indents for handles. The board holder is simple and smooth, with small holes drilled through the bottom for ventilation. The cutting boards all fit into the holder perfectly, making it easy to store the boards between uses. This cutting board set is very clearly high quality. The set would make a lovely gift-- but only after you've purchased a set for yourself first!
