I already had a big, heavy cutting board in my kitchen, but I wanted something smaller and lighter for the living room, dining area, family room, or even out on the porch. We use it for snacks while watching TV, light lunches outside, or even for starters before dinner. I prefer wood over those heavy plastic cutting boards since I worry about tiny bits of plastic mixing in with my food. I also like that I can easily disinfect wooden boards and keep separate ones for meat and for fruits, cheese, and bread. This reasonably priced board was a great find, and the wood grain is nice. I can’t understand the negative comments about it falling apart—I've been using mine for several months without any signs of wear. I really like this acacia wood cutting board. It’s lightweight and has great antibacterial properties, which is why I picked it. Before using it, I applied some MCT oil to seal it and finished it with a bit of melted beeswax. I'm hoping it lasts me for several years. Honestly, I prefer it over bamboo since that tends to split after a year or two.

Acacia wood makes a very nice light weight-cutting board. I chose it for it's anti- bacterial quality. I used some mct-oil on it before using just to seal all the surfaces and top-sealed with a tiny bit of melted beeswax. I hope to get several years of use from it.
