Great Upgrade from Plastic Boards
I decided to swap out my old plastic OXO cutting boards because I was worried about microplastics coming off them. At first, I was unsure about the compressed fiber boards, but after seeing my friends' Epicurean boards last well, I gave it a shot—and I'm glad I did! Performance-wise, cutting on this feels nice, like using a slate or butcher block. I've noticed knife marks show up quickly, but my blades seem to stay sharper compared to when I used harder surfaces. It says you can put it in the dishwasher, but I prefer hand washing with hot water and soap since it helps it last longer. Drying takes a bit more time than plastic, but it still works well, even if it's soaked. It's lightweight and thinner than the old plastic boards, yet it stays stable with rubber feet, and both sides can be used. The size matches what I expected, and it has a good range for different kitchen tasks. A couple of things: there was a slight smell when I first opened it, but that went away in a day or two after rinsing. I just put some board butter on it every few months to keep the surface nice. With heavy use, I'd say it lasts around 2–3 years, and maybe even up to 5 with lighter chopping. It looks great in the kitchen, and I love that I can use it for cutting and serving. Just a heads up, mine did come with a small surface cut, but that's bound to happen over time. Overall, I definitely recommend this board, even if it's a bit pricier. It protects my knives, keeps me away from microplastics, and is a lighter, eco-friendlier option than the old plastic ones.

Love my new cutting boards!
I've recently become more conscious about the microplastic problem, so I switched from plastic cutting boards that I thought were more dishwasher-friendly. I hadn't used my glass board much because it felt bulky. Then I found an old Epicurean board in my drawer, but I hadn't used it much either since it was larger and lacked a juice groove. After searching around, I saw that Epicurean now offers boards in various sizes with juice grooves, so I decided to try them out. I got the natural color in both 11.5"x9" and 10"x7" sizes, and I've been using them for a couple of months now—I'm really happy with them! I think the natural color will last longer than my old brown one, which has faded. These smaller sizes are for regular use. If you don’t need the groove, you can just flip the board over. They've handled daily dishwashing like a champ with no issues. I noticed some comments about dark flecks in the color; my old board had one too that didn’t change over time. One of my new boards has a small fleck, but it doesn't bother me at all. They’re lightweight, practical, and made in the USA. What's not to like?

This works really well. It's durable and takes care of my knives without dulling them. I've put it through the dishwasher several times, and it’s held up nicely after a few months of use.
