Good quality and value but stated dimensions are a little off
I'm a bit technical, so I thought I’d share some details that might not be covered in other reviews. I bought two sets of these lights for my new backyard pergola. I knew they wouldn’t be as bright as traditional wired string lights, but I was looking for some low-level, mood lighting for my 14 x 17 pergola. First off, the 27 ft. Length they advertise includes the distance from the solar panel to the first light, which is 9.5 ft. So the actual length you get for the lights is shorter than expected. Also, the bulbs are spaced 18.5 inches apart instead of the 20 inches claimed. There are a total of 12 bulbs, stretching about 17 ft from the first to the last. Each socket has a little hole that makes hanging them easy, and using S-hooks works great. The wiring feels sturdy, and the overall quality seems nice. Living in a hot desert, I’m curious to see how the lights stand up to the heat long-term. I noticed the battery is a single 1500mah, type 18650, 3.7V, and it’s sealed in the solar panel. I’d prefer a replaceable one, but at least the solar panel can be swapped out if needed since there’s a connection between it and the lights. You can use a stake to mount it or a strong plastic clip, which fits on my pergola frame. But given the potential for strong winds, I think I'll create my own secure mounting option. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality and the lights work just as I hoped.

Awesome Lights, Fantastic Support
We're really happy with these lights! They do exactly what we hoped for. They automatically turn on at dusk and last for at least six hours, creating a nice glow over some chairs in our garden. They’re not meant for reading, but they're just right for enjoying pleasant evenings outside. The build quality feels solid and sturdy, especially the watertight connector between the solar panel and the light string. The lights and cable look reliable without being bulky. The instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. Just remember to keep the panel switched ON for charging; we’ve left ours like that. The mounting options are decent, though the spring clip only lets you orient the panel east-west. I suggested a way to improve that to Colby. It was impressive how fast Colby got back to me about my suggestion as well as a question I had. If we go for a colored strand for the holidays, I’ll trust getting it from Hawkins Woodshop.

I’ve had this for five years now, and it’s held up really well. Hawkins Woodshop was great when I needed help, so I give them a 10/10. It’s a solid product, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking to buy.

Great Outdoor Lights
We really enjoy these lights, and honestly, I’ve lost track of how many we’ve bought over the years—think we’re on our 6th set now and I'm getting another for a gift. We keep one strand in our camping gear, and they light up our EzUP canopy beautifully. Two strands are up around our pergola, giving a nice soft glow that’s way better than harsh electric lights. We even have three strands at our cabin, which doesn’t have electricity. The ones outside survived nearly three years in the weather before they started to hold some water after rain, but they still work! I love that you can detach the solar panels from the strand, so you can position the lights just how you want them and move the panels to sunny spots for charging. At the cabin, I just leave them hanging, and when we plan to head back, I grab the solar panels to recharge them ahead of time—easy as that! Just a heads up, these aren’t bright lights. They’re not for reading by, but they do provide a cozy ambient light and let you see what’s going on around you without being overly bright. I’d recommend these!

Best solar lights I've had!
I bought five sets of these lights about two years ago and I've been really happy with them. They light up our yard fence nicely and they look great too. They turn on at dusk and off at sunrise automatically. These lights are way brighter than any others I've seen, and the quality is impressive for what you pay. I've since bought another set even after needing to replace two that stopped working. We live by a saltwater tidal river, so outdoor stuff gets rusty pretty quickly. Still, I love these lights and added more to brighten up another spot. If they last a couple of years, I’m coming back for more. Sometimes a little water gets in the bulbs from condensation, but it’s easy to unscrew them and pour it out—no big deal. Everyone keeps asking where I got these, and I tell them about Hawkins Woodshop.

Perfect Solar Lighting
We really love these lights! I’ve lost track of how many we’ve bought over the years—think we’re at 6 now and I’m getting a 7th as a gift soon. We keep a strand in our camping gear, and it lights up our EzUP canopy just right. We use two strands around the pergola in the backyard, and they give off a nice ambient glow without being harsh like traditional electric lights. We also have three strands at our cabin in the woods, where there’s no electricity. The backyard ones weathered almost three years outside before they started to fill with water after rains, but they still light up. I appreciate that the solar panels come off the strands, so I can set the lights up where I want and move the panels into the sunlight for charging. The cabin lights just hang in the rafters, and when we plan to go back, I take the solar panels to charge up the day before. Just a heads up, these aren’t bright lights. They won’t light up an entire area like a regular bulb, but they do provide a lovely glow that helps you see what’s around. Recommend!
