All metal, nice looking professional grade construction, smooth satin black finish, sturdy and easily adjustable legs, and assembles in less than one minute (no need to even look at the instructions). I hide my power / usb hub in the space under the platform (that clears desk space) and place my laptop in front. Even with the legs set at the lowest position, the supported monitor is positioned comfortably above my laptop monitor. I just love it when something is properly designed and built.
