Tips for a Smooth Assembly
I've put together more RTA furniture than I can count, and I know how it usually goes—most of it lacks quality. Assembly instructions can be pretty bad too, which can put people off. Often, issues like misaligned holes or wobbliness aren't the manufacturer's fault but come down to not following the instructions carefully. I really recommend checking out the video for this product; it's made in automated factories, so if you follow the instructions, everything should fit perfectly. Here are my tips for putting together a sturdy bamboo cabinet that looks great. First, layout your parts and know what's what. There’s one fastener that's different from the others, and they do include an allen wrench and a Phillips tool for the knob. Make sure the bottom shelf’s groove faces up and is at the back before you fasten anything. Also, don’t install the shelves until you have the back panel in place. One shelf has a groove—put that one in the back with the groove down. Another tip: insert the hinge pins and the storage door before tightening the shelves. After loosely fastening everything, lay the whole cabinet on its side to align it, and use the included foam to protect your floor. Finally, check that the door swings freely before tightening anything. If you do it this way, the cabinet will be sturdy and straight. It’s a beautiful piece that looks more expensive than it is. I recommend applying a light coat of linseed oil if it’s near moisture. Also, I usually don’t like logos, but the subtle branding on the top adds a nice touch. Overall, it’s a well-made product and I'm satisfied.
