Bathrooms are hard on wood. Steam works into solid boards and they cup, split, or swell at the ends, which is why these use FSC-certified engineered wood instead. It is more dimensionally stable in a damp room, and the certification means the fiber came from responsibly managed forests. Three shelves come in the set and the whole box weighs 6.8 pounds.

Each shelf runs 15.7 inches wide, 5.9 inches deep, and 1.1 inches thick. The depth is the number to pay attention to. At nearly six inches you can set a small basket, a stack of folded bath towels, or a row of books on it without anything hanging off the front edge. The width takes three to four rolls of toilet paper standing side by side, which is the usual reason someone hangs a shelf over the toilet in the first place.

Steel brackets carry the load, rated to 25 pounds, and they mount so the hardware disappears under the board. The shelf reads as a plank floating off the wall, no visible screws, no bracket arms poking out below. That clean line is the whole point of the farmhouse look, and it is what lets the same shelf work over a toilet, above a washing machine, beside a mirror, or out in a hallway holding plants and picture frames. The black finish keeps it from vanishing against a white wall. The design is protected under patent US D1,000,160 S.

Mounting hardware is included and instructions come in the box. Some assembly is required, mostly attaching the brackets and getting your marks level, and it goes quickly with a drill and a level in hand. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, a candle, and the collectibles that have nowhere else to go all fit fine once it is up.
