Great if you have limited storage and/or space
We had empty space under some cupboards that I always wished had a narrow cabinet for extra storage and a surface for the coffee pot etc. As we have very limited counter/storage space in our kitchen. This fit that bill perfectly. It sits behind an entry door so it couldn't be too wide like a regular counter but obviously needed to be wide enough to be useful. It has a good mix between counter space, open space for things you don't mind being displayed/in view, and closed space for storage. It gave us a place to put pops/drinks out of sight that used to just sit on the floor behind the door as well as more storage space for tupperware instead of cramming everything in the cabinets we had, and counter space for the coffee pot and keurig and mugs. In our situation we also needed space under the cabinet as the place it sits has a floor register. With one of those plastic magnetically attached directional hoods over the register it had just enough space to fit! The hardware is very similar to the existing hardware in our kitchen too so that was helpful. As far as the hardware goes, one "caution", the inner doors hinges technically go on backwards. The directions are pretty clear in my opinion and it did say to put them on the way they go but having built a lot of stuff over the years, including many types of furniture like this, I could see there was a "flat" side of the hinge and what is a more finished side. Naturally I figured the instructions must be wrong but the holes do not line up using the "finished" side and the hinge will not work properly either. So long story short, trust the instructions and follow them carefully. There are a lot of parts so give yourself room (at least 2-3x's the size of the box) and some time. It's a little tedious but not difficult. Also remember this is not real wood so be careful if you are using an electric screwdriver, drill, or impact driver-it doesn't require, and can't handle, much torque to tighten the hardware. And while it's not that heavy, especially for 2 people, I would move it carefully since again, it's not real wood. My rating is really a 4.5 simply because after getting everything together one of the doors is noticeably crooked and there's really no way to fix it. I tried adjusting the hinges on both doors to split the difference but it didn't work. Another purchaser posted a video on this cabinet and his did the same thing-and I believe it was the same door. I've included a picture of the whole cabinet and the door to get an idea. So take a look at the video and my pic and decide if that would be a big problem in case it's a typical issue.
