Every January the same thing happens. Ornaments go back into whatever box is handy, the tissue paper gets reused until it tears, and by the following December something has cracked. This container solves that with structure instead of hope. Four trays lift in and out by fabric pull tabs, and between them you get sixty four individual slots sized at 3 inches, plus two extra pockets for bells, hooks, and the small odds and ends that never fit anywhere else.

The shell is 600D Oxford fabric rated to hold up to 11 pounds, or 5 kilograms. Dual zippers close it down tight and keep dust out through eleven months in a closet or an attic. The lid closes securely so it will not fall open when the box gets lifted at an angle, and two side handles make it a comfortable carry up or down a staircase.

The lid is reinforced with cardboard, which is what makes stacking work. Boxes sit on top of one another without the bottom one caving in, so a full collection goes up vertically instead of eating an entire closet floor. A front label holder lets you note what is inside, which saves opening three boxes to find the glass birds.

The color is forest green, so it reads as holiday storage on a shelf rather than one more anonymous tub. Between seasons it stays out of the way. When December comes back around, the trays lift straight out and everything is exactly where you left it.
