Fantastic Coffee Table.
I have to say, this was a great find. It was my first time buying furniture from Hawkins Woodshop, and I’m really happy with it. My wife wanted a lift-top coffee table to use for eating and working on her laptop, and this one is. The delivery was quick, but I was a bit nervous when I saw some damage on the box. When I opened it up, though, everything was perfectly packed with no damage at all. Putting it together was easy. I might have enjoyed a couple of drinks while assembling it, but even then, it wasn't complicated. The instructions were clear, and all the tools you need were included, plus a few extra screws. Once we set it up for her birthday, it fit like a charm with our oversized sectional—I got the larger version since our couch is about 5 to 6 feet long. The storage space under the top is ; we can stash board games, books, even tissue boxes in there. The compartments underneath are also handy for displaying some decorative pieces. When we lift the table top, there’s plenty of legroom, so we can sit comfortably without feeling cramped while using the laptop or reaching for our drinks. The finish is beautiful and blends well with the handcrafted furniture I’ve made for the living room. Overall, I would recommend this table to anyone, just be sure to double-check the dimensions to match your space. It looks much more expensive than it is, and we get compliments on it all the time. I usually expect mid-range tables to be just okay and need replacing eventually, but this one might change that. Everything arrived well packed, and the instructions were simple to follow. I put it together in about thirty minutes. The trickiest part was attaching a long brace for stability; I think switching the assembly order for that step would help a lot. The chipboard panels are solid, with a nice faux wood finish, and they're pre-drilled for easy hardware attachment. But the frame is what really stands out. It's sturdy enough that I could replace the chipboard parts with wood if they ever wear out. The top lifts easily with spring-loaded hinges, which makes it a breeze to raise and lower. Once up, it's at a comfortable height for dining, doing homework, or gaming. The interior storage is generous, with plenty of space for games and controllers, plus the three cubbies on the bottom are great too and go through to the other side. Each leg has adjustable feet for leveling as well. Overall, I'm pleased with this table!
