Kids want furniture built at their own scale, and this plush little seat delivers exactly that in two configurations. Folded up as a sofa it measures 22.8 inches wide, 17.7 inches deep and 12.4 inches high, sized for one child to settle into with a book. Pull the front section out and it flattens into a lounger, 16.1 inches wide by 40.5 inches deep at the same 12.4 inch height, long enough for a kid to stretch out full length during a movie or an afternoon nap. A matching blanket comes with it.
The cover carries a glow in the dark dinosaur pattern, and it works the way you would hope. Leave the couch under a lamp or in a sunny window for twenty minutes or more, then turn the lights off. The pattern gives back a soft, steady glow that lasts well into the evening. It is a small thing, but it tends to make bedtime something a child looks forward to rather than argues about.
Underneath the soft flannel cover is a four inch high density foam core, firm enough that the seat keeps its shape instead of going flat after a few weeks of hard sitting. The edges are curved rather than cut square, which matters when a toddler is climbing on and off it a dozen times a day. Practical side pockets hold books, a tablet or a fistful of small toys, and the whole piece is light enough that a child can move it from the bedroom to the playroom or the living room without help.
Cleanup is straightforward. The cover unzips completely and goes in the washing machine. One piece of advice before you strip it: mark each foam block as you pull it out, because reassembly goes much faster when you know which piece belongs where. The couch also ships vacuum packed and compressed, so unwrap it and give it 48 to 72 hours to expand fully before you judge the loft.
