I thought this bed would be a bit taller, but it's on the shorter side; you'll definitely need a 10-inch mattress. I ended up getting an 8-inch mattress, which looks small on this frame. I also ordered another mattress for my son. Other than that, I have no issues. Just be ready to assemble it since it comes with quite a few pieces.
