Just what I needed + assembly notes
I got exactly what I was looking for. I use melamine pieces for my laundry, studio, home office, and this utility closet under the stairs. It's sturdy, easy to put together, and practical. They include an Allen wrench, but I recommend using a drill to speed things up—just don't drill too fast or you might go through the fiberboard. I had mine done in about 20 minutes. They even threw in a couple extra pieces of hardware, but I didn't need them since everything held together well. The screws are visible on the sides, but I covered them with some sticky dots. If you don’t like those big stickers telling you to secure it to the wall, you can peel them off using a hair dryer. The shelves are adjustable after assembly and I like the metal pegs better than the plastic ones from my old shelves. The backing was easy to put on too; much better than fighting with tiny nails. Don't forget to use the little plastic braces they include—they keep the backing nice and tight. Overall, if you're careful while assembling, I think you'll be happy with this bookshelf. I'd order another one if I needed it.

I bought 2 of these on sale and I'm so glad that I did. They were a bit of a pain to put together because the backing piece is kind of flimsy & when you try to stack the 2 pieces together it's difficult to get it just right by yourself. I had to have my daughter come help me with the 2nd one. I love that not only do they give you the tool you need to put some of the pieces in they also give you a screwdriver. They were the perfect height to fit into my book nook. I love how they look.
