Great Daybed for Guests
We bought this twin daybed to replace a queen bed and make more room in our spare room. The package was heavy but everything was there, even extra screws. My husband and I put it together in about three hours. The instructions were mostly pictures, so we had to pay attention. Most parts were labeled, but some weren’t, which took a bit to figure out. Once we got it together, it felt solid and looks nice. I love the LED light on the headboard too. I got two 8-inch mattresses, but I wish I went with 10-inch ones since there's a gap between the mattress and headboard. My husband will just put a board there to cover it up. When our first guest stayed, we pulled out the trundle and combined the beds into a king-sized setup — it worked well! At first it squeaked a lot, but after we tightened some screws, it was quiet the second night. Our guest liked the outlet on the headboard for charging their phone. Overall, good bed for the price — sturdy and space-saving. Just plan for a few hours to put it together and get 10-inch mattresses!

We got this twin-size day bed to replace a queen bed so we could have more floor space in our spare room, but still have a large bed available when guests visit. Ups delivered the (very heavy!) package, and everything was complete — even a few extra screws were included just in case one rolled away. My husband and I assembled it together, and it took us about three hours. The instructions rely mostly on illustrations, so you really have to study them carefully. Fortunately, most parts were labeled, though a few weren’t, so we had to figure those out. Once we got the hang of it, everything fit perfectly. All the parts are solid metal and feel heavy-duty once assembled. The finished bed looks great, and I love the color changing led light on the headboard. For the mattresses, I purchased two 8-inch twins, but I should have gone with 10-inch ones since there’s a 2 inch gap between the mattress and the headboard where things can fall through. However, returning the mattresses back to Hawkins Woodshop would’ve been a hassle, so my husband plans to just add a board to cover the space. When our first guest stayed, we pulled out the trundle and combined both twin beds into a king-sized setup — it worked perfectly! The first night, though, they noticed squeaking with every movement. It was loud! Turns out we hadn’t tightened the screws enough. After tightening everything, the second night was quiet and comfortable. Our guest didn’t use the led light, but they appreciated the convenient outlet on the headboard for phone charging. Overall, for the price, this bed is definitely worth it — sturdy, attractive, and a smart space-saving solution. Just set aside a few hours for assembly. And get a 10 inch twin mattress!
