Sit-Stand Desk Converter, 36-Inch Dual Monitor Riser, Black

Rebuilding a home office around a full standing desk means replacing furniture you already like. This converter skips that step. It sits on top of the desk or table you own now, arrives fully assembled, and is ready to use the minute you lift it out of the box.

The two tier design is what makes it usable all day. The upper surface measures 36 inches by 12.25 inches and holds two monitors with room left over, while the lower deck carries the keyboard and mouse at the right drop below them. That separation is the whole point of a good converter, because a single flat shelf forces your wrists up to monitor height. The keyboard tray is fixed to the desktop at an ideal typing angle rather than adjusting on its own, a deliberate trade in favor of stability.

Eleven height settings cover the range between sitting and standing. The patented rowing and spring-assisted lift does the heavy work, so raising a loaded desktop takes a pull rather than a strain on your back. Dual handles and a patented foam-wrapped steel mechanism guard the pinch points, which matters if kids or a curious dog share the room.

Stability comes from thicker gauged steel, a weighted base, and dual stability bars that hold the top steady at any height. The 3D laminate finish is commercial grade, and this is the original Pro Plus 36 from Vari, the best-selling model the copycat designs are copying. The number in the name is simply the width in inches, so a 36 is 36 inches wide. The 36 and the 48 both handle two monitors; the smaller 30 suits a single monitor and a laptop. A Vari drink coaster and cable wraps come in the box to keep the surface and cords in order. Vari monitor arms clamp on and work with it directly, and while other brands may fit, compatibility with them is not guaranteed. It carries 30-day free returns and a 5-year warranty.
