I have a 70lb rescue dog who really knows how to destroy dog beds. In the past two years, we’ve spent over $1000 on different beds. This one has earned an A+ from us for its waterproof/washable features, and it holds up against chewing and ripping. Most beds last a week, but this one is still intact after three months. The outer material is strong and doesn’t give him much to grip onto when he digs. The zipper is hidden, which is great for our pup who tries to get in there. It’s also comfortable—many ‘tough’ dog beds are not, but this one works for him. The memory foam is one solid piece, so no mess of shredded foam everywhere. Plus, it has a good waterproof lining. Even when my dog did manage to tear it a bit, I could fix it easily. He’s not the worst chewer, but I think this bed is durable enough for most dogs. It’s $30 on sale for a large size, which is an price considering how much I’ve spent on others that didn’t last. We’re thinking of getting another for our car too!

This ended up being a great,dog bed! I've had this bed now going on three years. I cant believe its been that long. My only reason for replacing,honestly. Its durable, its held its shape,perfectly. Its easy to take apart,and the cover holds up great in the washer. I tumble dry on low, and it all fits back together like a charm. My dogs are smaller, 13.5 lbs and 9 lbs for reference. They can both comfortably fit. My senior dog loves this bed. I'll buy the same one again. It's a great bargain,and my pups got more than enough use out of it for $40.

I am super happy with this dog bed for medium size dogs. My dog is about 70 pounds, but I got the 36x27” 50 pound dog size because the larger one would not fit under the table where my dog normally sleeps on my yoga mat. I was worried because it seems like the main complaint on Hawkins Woodshop dog bed reviews is that the reasonably priced ones are thin and flimsy. The box it arrived in was so small, it didn’t make me feel any more confident, but I expected the foam to be compressed. Wow. When I opened the box, I was so pleased to see that setting the bed up would be simple. Other products' instructions I’d read said you need to put parts of the bed in the dryer to fluff them up! I took both pieces out of the box and spread them over a chair just to be sure they were aired out and expanded. However, there really was no smell and the egg crate style foam was already thick and very substantial. No worries! Another good thing is the zipper opens up on two rather than one side, so it’s really easy to insert the foam into the cover. I put a small carpet under the bed to keep it clean and prevent any slipping. This is not actually necessary. I also covered the entire bed with a fitted flannel sheet that I could tuck under the corners of the bed - which would not stay cute pink for long here in a Seattle winter. The sheet fits perfectly and looks like it is custom made for the bed. I specifically wanted the three-sided bolster because there is an air vent on the wall that cannot be obstructed. So the bolster is in the front. It’s a perfect pillow for my dog's chin. He loves it although he is not thrilled that the cat loves it too.
