Most dog crates are an eyesore you tolerate. This one is built to sit in a living room and pass as furniture, with a flat top at 32.68 inches high that takes a television, a lamp, or the clutter that would otherwise pile up on the floor. The footprint is 78.74 inches wide and 27.56 inches deep, which is a lot of wall, so measure the space before you fall in love with it.

Inside, the size is rated for dogs in the 35 to 60 pound range, and there is room for two of them. A middle partition installs or comes out depending on how the household works. Two dogs that squabble over space each get their own section. Two dogs that pile on top of each other anyway get the full run of the interior once you pull the divider. Three entry points make that flexible in practice: a front door and two side doors, so each dog can come and go on its own side, or they can share the wide front opening once they are comfortable together.

The detail owners notice after a month is the clearance. The feet raise the crate 3.94 inches off the floor, enough for a robot vacuum to run underneath. Dog hair collects under furniture faster than anywhere else in a house, and not having to drag a cabinet this wide away from the wall every week is worth more than it sounds on a spec sheet.

Construction is wood reinforced with 0.5 inch thickened metal pipes and boards, plus a load-bearing metal tube running along the bottom. That bottom tube is what keeps a piece this wide from sagging in the middle under the weight of two dogs and a television. The finish is dark grey, dark enough to hide the scuffs a crate collects and neutral enough to sit beside most upholstery. If the dogs ever outgrow it, or simply move to sleeping on the bed, it stays useful as a TV stand or an oversized side table.
