Great product. Directions lacking.
Directions are a challenge and dont show proper layout for a few steps leaving you to guess. But once you figure it out and make a few mistakes its great for the poochie. A couple of the screws busted through the thin mdf on the final shelving part. Eh. Sucks but oh well. Gate latch is poorly welded and could be an issue later. Like another review I put the tray inside before final assembly as I didnt want him on the metal slats. If I needed to take it out itd be a few screws. Looks way better than a kennel.

Awesome piece but be careful with assembly
This guy is sturdy and will last for a long time when constructed correctly. I love the way it looks and get constant compliments on it! It is the perfect combination of functional and aestheticly pleasing! My one cavet would be for the instructions to be more specific when putting together certain parts that need to be in an exact direction otherwise you need to take it all back apart again when a later time comes to assemble another piece and you need the drill hole that is now on the opposite side.

Très belle cage. Très belle apparence. Cage solide mais avec plusieurs petits points négatifs que nous avons préférés modifier. 1) Le fond de la cage est en grillage à espaces larges. Nous trouvions ce concept inacceptable et très inconfortable, même si avoir un coussin de chien confortable est nécessaire. Nous avons donc pris le plateau noir prévu en dessous de la cage et nous l’avons installé à l’intérieur, par dessus le fond en grillage, pour offrir un plancher plat, plus confortable en dessous de son coussin et plus sécuritaire pour notre chien.2) Les dimensions sont très « limite » pour un chien moyen de 70 livres, surtout si votre chien a de longues pattes. 3) Le panneau qui s’ouvre sur le dessus de la cage peut être levé très facilement et sans effort par votre chien. De peur que notre chien à longues pattes se blesse gravement à essayer de sortir par cette ouverture, nous avons installé un loquet pour attacher le panneau du dessus. 4) Nous avons enlevé les roulettes de la cage pour les remplacer par des pieds fixes. C’est un choix personnel afin de mieux stabiliser la cage, surtout si votre chien pèse plus de 60 livres. Après avoir fait tous ces changements, maintenant nous sommes satisfaits et trouvons cette cage plus adaptée et plus sécuritaire pour notre amour de chien.

I chose to get the crate/hutch combo and the price was great. Yes it's engineered wood but the metal frame is solid. Directions could have been better and I had to undo and redo some sections because I missed that certain pieces were directional but overall assembly was not difficult. When attaching the back part of the hutch shelves you have to be careful to align the screw holes otherwise the screw will pop out and chew up the shelf. The one thing I wish was different was the front crate doors because we are not planning to use it as a locking crate and I had hoped we could just not attach them but the door hinges appear to be soldered on versus attached with screws. Edit: I ended up removing the front doors at the hinge (used a reciprocating saw tool with a metal blade) and some light sanding. It's now exactly what I was looking for. All in all, excellent for the price.
