The included pad is a bit thin, so if you're looking for something softer, you might want to get an extra one. Since my dog had surgery, the thinner pad works for us right now, but I plan to switch it out for something comfier later on. Just a heads up—this crate is best for dogs that are already potty trained since it doesn't have a removable bottom. Our pup is a 21lb westiepoo.
